Photographs of the November 2011 Lunch at the Burlington Hotel
73 ladies attended the reunion lunch at the Burlington on Thursday November 10th. Unfortunately Jane Freeman could not attend as she had family problems to deal with.
Emails were read out from Val Blench nee Lake who wished to be remembered to any of her old school friends who were there at the lunch. Happily there were quite a lot of them and their email addresses have been sent to Val. I am sure she will be happy about that.
Also Carole Crascall nee Tilly wished to pass on her warmest wishes to the old girls. She had been trying to contact an old friend, Janet Harris, and between Jane and myself we managed to put them in touch with each other. No doubt we will hear more from them. So many years to catch up on!
Photographs were passed round the tables from the"Elizabeth Allen" collection and there was great hope that some of the girls on the photographs could be identified. I will update them as soon as I hear from those concerned.
It was suggested that perhaps in the future we could have a "memorabilia table" so that pictures and any other objects of interest could be set out and browsed over by the old girls, before and after the lunch. It might also encourage people to bring in their own private memories to be shared amongst us. Perhaps someone has an old school hat? It's amazing how emotions can be stirred by such objects. Unfortunately I threw mine in the river on the way home on my last day. I bet there is one out there somewhere!!
