Unlike the lunch in April, which was cold and foggy, we were treated to a very sunny and pleasant November day. There’s no accounting for the wonderful British weather.
We were a little down on our numbers this time, 40 ladies, but put it down to the fact that the following day, the “Year of 53” were celebrating their 65th Anniversary at the Furzedown. All in all, 56 ladies getting together albeit on two separate days.
Judith had to cancel at the last minute because of family problems and so there was no list of apologies. Kay Heath was kind enough to say Grace.
Jane informed us that The Great Yarmouth Preservation Trust had asked her to pass on their thanks and appreciation for our donation of £500 towards the tower clock repair. The clock should be working by the end of January 2019.
The food and service, as always, was extremely pleasant. The hotel was decorated beautifully for Christmas and was a good place to start getting that Christmas feeling going.
The next lunch will be held at The Furzedown Hotel on May 9th 2019
You will notice the photographs have no names attached to them as yet. We are working on it!
